Damaged or defective product
Send a photo of the product and the parcel to shop@loremipsum.re within 30 days of delivery. We send you a new product or refund you, free of charge.
This 30-day period is in addition to the legal guarantees below and does not reduce them.
Legal guarantees
All products are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity and the guarantee against hidden defects. The text below is the one set by French decree no. 2022-424 of March 25, 2022.
The consumer has two years from delivery of the goods to obtain the application of the legal guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. During this period, the consumer only has to prove that the lack of conformity exists, not when it appeared.
When the sales contract provides for the continuous supply of digital content or a digital service for more than two years, the legal guarantee applies to that digital content or service throughout the planned supply period. During this period, the consumer only has to prove that the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or service exists, not when it appeared.
The legal guarantee of conformity requires the seller, where applicable, to provide all updates needed to keep the goods in conformity.
The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the goods repaired or replaced within thirty days of the request, free of charge and without major inconvenience.
If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the initial guarantee.
If the consumer asks for the goods to be repaired but the seller imposes a replacement, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for two years from the date of replacement.
The consumer may obtain a price reduction while keeping the goods, or end the contract and get a full refund in exchange for returning the goods, if:
- The seller refuses to repair or replace the goods;
- The repair or replacement takes place after thirty days;
- The repair or replacement causes major inconvenience to the consumer, in particular when the consumer permanently bears the costs of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the installation costs of the repaired or replacement goods;
- The lack of conformity persists despite the seller's unsuccessful attempt to bring the goods into conformity.
The consumer is also entitled to a price reduction or to end the contract when the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. The consumer then does not have to ask for repair or replacement first.
The consumer is not entitled to end the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any period during which the goods are out of use for repair or replacement suspends the remaining guarantee period until the repaired goods are delivered.
The rights above result from articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code.
A seller who obstructs the application of the legal guarantee of conformity in bad faith faces a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be raised to 10% of average annual turnover (article L. 241-5 of the French Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects under articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for two years from the discovery of the defect. This guarantee gives the right to a price reduction if the goods are kept, or to a full refund in exchange for returning the goods.
Gift cards
A gift card is worth €10 to €500. Its code is emailed right after payment, to the recipient or to the buyer.
The card is valid for 1 year after purchase. It can be used over several orders on products, excluding shipping costs. The balance remains available until the end of validity.
The card is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Buying it does not earn loyalty points. Products paid with the card do.
The right of withdrawal applies to the purchase of an unused card, for 14 days after payment. A lost card is sent again on request to shop@loremipsum.re.
Loyalty program
Orders placed with a customer account earn loyalty points. The rules are on the page Loyalty program.
Personal data
How order data is used is described on the page Privacy and cookies.
Disputes
For any complaint, first write to shop@loremipsum.re. These terms are governed by French law. The consumer may bring a claim before the court of their place of residence.
